Are there nearby accommodations or camping options for overnight stays?

In the town itself there is a camping where you can camp. Additionally, there are several hotels nearby for those seeking other accommodations. Please see more information on camping and hotels here.

I'm coming by car—what's the exact address and parking information?

The designated parking area is located at Rle de la Fontaine, 1323 Romainmôtier-Envy. Upon arrival, follow the main road through the village—do not take side streets or walking paths—and look for the blue "P" parking signs guiding you to the correct area. Event staff will be present to assist you in finding a spot. More information here.

What is the nearest train station if I'm arriving by train?

The nearest train station is Gare Croy-Romainmôtier, which you can reach from Lausanne. If you're traveling from Geneva, take a train to Lausanne and transfer there. Alternatively, if you're coming from Paris, you can take a train to Vallorbe Gare (Switzerland) and exit at Croy-Romainmôtier, which is the closest station to the event. From there it's only a 10 minute walk to the festival. More information here.

What are the requirements to compete in the throat singing competition?

There are no restrictions to join the throat singing competition at Echoes of the Steppe. Whether you're a beginner, enthusiast, amateur, semi-professional, or professional—of any nationality—you are welcome to register. Each entry will be reviewed manually, and we’ll notify you once you're accepted into the competition. Register as a participant here.

Do I need a ticket if I'm competing in the competition?

As this is our first edition of the festival and resources are limited, we are doing our best to provide a great experience. However, we are unable to offer free entry for participants in the throat singing competition this year. Therefore, you'll need to purchase an entrance ticket to attend the festival.

An inspiring Festival in the beautiful medieval town of Romainmôtier

There couldnt be a more beautiful place for our first edition of this festival: The medieval town of Romainmôtier, nestled in a stunning region of Switzerland, surrounded by forests, caves, rivers, and waterfalls.
